Club 57 Wiki

Club 57 is a musical TV series produced by Rainbow SpA and Nickelodeon, which were both part of Viacom at the time. It was filmed between Italy and the United States, and features an international cast. The series was created by Catharina Ledeboer alongside producers Iginio Straffi (the creator of Winx Club) and Pierluigi Gazzolo.

The show was green-lit for a full season following a meeting that Iginio Straffi held with other Viacom creatives. Wanting to co-develop another series with Nickelodeon after Winx Club, Straffi watched the unaired Club 57 pilot that was filmed at Viacom's Miami studio in 2016. He loved the concept and came up with the idea for the show's male lead, JJ Fontana, to be an Italian immigrant. This ended up being a major plot point for the show, beginning with episode 12. Many other crew members from Winx Club returned to work on Club 57.

Club 57 made its world premiere on Rai Gulp in Italy on 15 April 2019.

Plot

Siblings Eva and Ruben Garcia come across their grandfather's mysterious time machine, the FrankenTV. Unaware of the device's power, the two accidentally send themselves to the year 1957. There, the siblings wind up in a popular musical show called Club 57, starring the diva Amelia. Behind the scenes of the show, Eva falls in love with the Italian greaser JJ and wants to stay with him, triggering a butterfly effect that threatens Eva and Ruben's lives. The Guardians of Time are determined to restore order, so they send their apprentice Aurek and his virtual assistant, Droide, back in time to stop the Garcias from changing history.
